<p>Must be 18 years of age and possess good language, literacy and numeracy skills</p>

<p>Photo ID and written evidence of a current Tasmanian address (ie utility bill, telephone bill, car registration papers) must be provided on the first day of training</p>



<p>Biscuits, tea, coffee and drinks are provided. There are many takeaway food options nearby or feel free to bring your own lunch</p>



<p><strong>PPE requirements</strong>&nbsp;Safety boots, hard hat, long pants and Hi Vis short/long sleeve shirt</p>

<li>Risk assessment/Hierarchy of control</li>



<li>Detailed theory component</li>



<li>Calculations and communications</li>



<li>Hoist pre-start inspection and fault identification</li>



<li>Select and prepare equipment</li>



<li>Intensive practical component</li>



<li>Conduct hoist operations</li>



<li>Emergency procedures</li>



<li>Hoist shut down and post-operational inspection</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Application</h3>



<p>This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a personnel and materials hoist, that is, a cantilever or tower hoist or several winches configured to operate as a hoist intended to carry goods, materials or people.</p>



<p>Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of&nbsp;<a href="https://training.gov.au/training/details/CPCWHS1001">CPCWHS1001</a>&nbsp;Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.</p>
