<p>You’ll learn and be assessed on:</p>

<li>WHS Act 2012 and legislative requirements</li>



<li>Risk assessment, hierarchy of control</li>



<li>Slinging techniques and lifting gear selection, inspection &amp; fault identification</li>



<li>Crane types, load charts, weight calculations, centre of gravity</li>



<li>Angle/reeve factors, 4 essential knots</li>



<li>Signalling: hand, radio, whistle</li>



<li>Practical: Plan, lift &amp; relocate loads safely with a 25t slewing mobile crane (gear supplied)</li>



<li>Preparation for work, pack up procedures</li>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Licencing Requirements in Tasmania</h3>



<p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p>

<li>18 years of age or older</li>



<li>Language, literacy and numeracy skills required</li>



<li>Valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) – <a href="https://www.usi.gov.au/students/find-your-usi">create or find your USI</a></li>



<li>Proof of identity and Tasmanian residential address (e.g. driver’s licence, utility bill, car registration)</li>



<li>Completion of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry required for construction work</li>
</ul>

<li>Hobart: $1,250 per person (GST exempt)</li>



<li>Launceston/Devonport: $1,400 per person (GST exempt)</li>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Recognised Qualification &amp; Licensing Pathways</h3>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Ticket Eligibility &amp; Assessment</h3>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Dogman Ticket:</strong> On successful completion, participants receive the national Statement of Attainment from RTO Talented Training (#45144), qualifying you for your Dogging Licence (DG).</li>



<li><strong>Advanced Pathways:</strong> This ticket is a required step towards enrolling for a rigger ticket or advanced rigging course.</li>



<li><strong>Assessment:</strong> Worksafe theory and practical assessment conducted on Day 4.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Location and Facilities</h3>



<p>Delivery: Training available onsite or offsite, statewide across Tasmania<br>Supplied by HRWS:</p>

<li>25 tonne Slewing Mobile Crane (or similar) and all lifting gear</li>
</ul>



<p>Facilities include tea, coffee, biscuits and access to local food outlets. Participants are welcome to bring lunch.</p>



<p><strong>PPE required:</strong>&nbsp;Safety boots or enclosed shoes, long pants, and a hi‑vis short or long‑sleeve shirt.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Registered Training Organisation (RTO)</h3>



<p>High Risk Work Solutions delivers this course as Talented Training RTO #45144, ensuring compliance with the Standards for RTOs. A Statement of Attainment is issued by Talented Training Pty Ltd when an individual successfully completes one or more accredited units within this course.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Application</h3>



<p>This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform dogging work. Dogging consists of the application of slinging techniques to move a load, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear, and the directing of a plant operator in the movement of a load when the load is out of sight of the operator.</p>



<p>Dogging work is conducted in the construction industry and other industries where loads are lifted and moved using cranes or hoists.</p>



<p>Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of&nbsp;<a href="https://training.gov.au/training/details/CPCWHS1001">CPCWHS1001</a>&nbsp;Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.</p>
